Overview
Pocketly is a family money learning app. Explore kid and parent perspectives together. All amounts are pretend USDC or SOL. No real wallet is connected and no blockchain transactions occur.
Availability
Available: persistent practice families, approved-recipient payments, requests and parent decisions, savings, goal jars, chores and rewards, spending freezes, allowance settings, recipients, activity, and messages. Not available: live families, signed wallet login, real SOL or USDC transfers, Squads accounts, secure device keys, recovery, invites, co-parent permissions, multi-token limits, automatic refills, chain indexing, price feeds, or keeper notifications.
Allowance
Payments must fit the remaining allowance, use an approved recipient, and have enough pot funds. Saving uses allowance too. Changing a limit preserves existing spending. Refresh period advances the practice clock manually. No background refill is claimed.
Requests
Use Ask a parent for an amount, recipient, reason, and source. Switch to parent view to approve or decline. Approval deducts funds from the practice pot or unassigned savings. Repeated approvals are rejected at the server.
Savings
Savings persist across allowance refreshes. Jars organize savings into goals. Total allocations cannot exceed savings, and each jar cannot exceed its target. Unassigning funds makes them available for other goals or withdrawal requests.
Chores
Parents post a chore and bounty. Kids mark it done. Parents send it back or reward it. A savings reward transfers funds from the practice pot; bonus allowance increases the current limit. A separate expiring bonus limit is not implemented.
Freeze
Freeze blocks practice payments and saving at the server. Requests remain open. Resuming preserves previous usage. This is not an on-chain guarantee.
Privacy
An HTTP-only cookie identifies each practice session. Data is persisted in the hosted D1 database. Kid and parent views share the same session; they are not separate authenticated accounts. Never enter private financial details or wallet secrets. Automated data retention is not implemented.
Deployment
This hosted practice app runs on Cloudflare Workers with persistent D1 storage. Each browser gets its own practice family. Live wallets and real-money transactions remain unavailable. The repository includes deployment sources and a feature comparison.
